Scratchboard Art

The demand for this unique form swept the country in the early 1980's. Its appeal is easy to see; the fine detail with its high color contrast catches the eye the moment you walk into a room and is particularly effective for portraying animals as it gives them a life of their own. Expertly done, they appear to be almost moving or looking back at you from the canvas.  The result is a dramatic conversation piece that captivates collectors and their guests.

Kathy's scratchboard work was first Published by Figi Giftware.  Soon her animal images were being published in limited edition prints and distributed around the world making her one of the top five  scratchboard artists in  the country.  Kathy was probably the most prolific of all during that period, with 95 images being published and sold.  While in recent years her focus has changed to meet the demand from collectors of her acrylics and  watercolors, due to recent requests she is making her private stock available for purchase.  Many of these images are no longer in print. It is only recently that the artist has made a limited number of her images available as prints on Cafe Press and has some artist's proofs remaining in her own personal stock.  Quantities are very limited so we encourage you to visit soon while there is time to select and purchase some of these wonderful images for your own Yaude collection of artworks.
